Dead Rising offers seemingly endless and frequently hillarious ways to dispatch the hordes of zombies you'll encounter. The "everything is a weapon" gameplay mechanic is probably the greatest strength of the game. The katana, battle axe, lawnmower, bowling ball, shopping cart, and cash register are just a few examples. However, the missions definitely leave something to be desired. Escort missions after escort mission leading NPC characters with frustratingly terrible pathfinding will quickly turn this game, from a hack and slash zombie romp, into a chore. If you are intersted in playing the game, I'd strongly suggest ignoring the missions on your first play through. The game levels up your character the more zombies you kill, and these levels carry over to subsequent playthrough. It is much easier attempting the story missions with a character that has already completed one or two previous playthroughs.
